MEET THE DOCTOR  

 

YUVAL NIR, D.V.M., M.S.  graduated with a doctorate in veterinary medicine from the University of Parma, Italy in 1985. He then pursued further education at Kansas State University, where he obtained an advanced Master of Science degree in veterinary surgery and medicine in 1988. Herpetology and exotic animal care have been part of his life since childhood and he has a valuable hands on experience in the field.

Dr. Nir has been practicing small animal veterinary medicine in the Chicago area ever since (General practice, exotic animal practice and emergency and critical care practice). His practice philosophy is based on high professional standards and long lasting love for animals and people.

Dr. Nir is the Author of "Ask the vet"- a public education column in three regional newspapers. And the owner- operator of The-vet.net, a global consultation internet site and  local web enhanced services for his clients. He is involved in the community life and schools, through partnerships and programs, dedicating time and energy to mentor and educate young and adults. 

He is a member of the American Veterinary Medical Association, Illinois State Veterinary Medical Association and the Chicago Veterinary Medical Association.
