High quality, compassionate care
Dr. Nir and Mariann provide high quality, compassionate care for pets. We have been taking our dogs to them for the past four, almost five, years. Most importantly, Dr. Nir and Mariann provide a friendly and quaint environment in their vet. They truly know your animals and that kind of patient-doctor relationship is hard to find these days. They are always flexible in scheduling appointments and are able to email bills, receipts, summary statements, and lab work which is nice for electronic keeping. Dr. Nir is very friendly with the pets and our animals enjoy him. He takes his time to answer all questions thoroughly. Mariann is knowledgeable about behavior training and always gives us good tips and insights into training our dogs. We recently lost one of our dogs to cancer and they guided us through the process with extreme knowledge, sympathy, and expertise. They informed us with all the information necessary to make informed yet compassionate decisions during such a difficult time. Mariann even drove to our house to drop the ashes off when they were ready. They go above and beyond and are highly recommended!

They make you and your pets feel right at home
Dr. Nir has been our vet for nearly 8 years and we think that he and his assistant, Maryanne, are absolutely wonderful. We originally went there when we adopted my mother's dog after she had passed away. We were so impressed with the excellent level of care and kindness that they became our regular vet and over the years have become family. They are compassionate and genuinely have your animal's best interest in mind. In addition, the service is consistently excellent, hours convenient, and they make you and your pets feel right at home. Dr. Nir takes the time to listen to your concerns/questions and always thoroughly explains the medications and treatments. He has expertly cared for our lab, Annabelle, for years, treating her for everything from regular vaccinations and procedures to more complex issues including surgery. When she passed away last Sept, they were so supportive during our time of loss. We're happy to say that in Nov, we adopted another wonderful lab, Sullivan, and know that he's in excellent hands with Dr. Nir. All in all an excellent place and would HIGHLY recommend them!!!

Dr. Nir is a one of a kind vet that your animal would be lucky to have!
I first went to Dr. Nir two years ago when I adopted my first kitten. At our first visit Dr. Nir was concerned that my kitten had FIP, a rare fatal disease. He was the only vet to diagnose him correctly and was incredibly compassionate through the entire process and encouraged me to do whatever I could to make Wrigley comfortable in his remaining months. When I adopted two cats after Wrigley passed I took them to a vet recommended by the foster home I adopted them from. After two months with incredibly sick kittens I decided to go back to Dr. Nir. In the first visit he diagnosed them with respiratory viruses, gave them the correct antibiotics, and noticed they had ear mites. The other vet never diagnosed them correctly after five visits. Within a few weeks they were back to normal and I swore I would never go to another vet. I live 40 miles from Dr. Nir's Naperville office now and I travel the full hour to make sure my cats get the very best care. Dr. Nir is not only incredibly compassionate with animals, but he is also extremely knowledgeable. The prices are way lower than they should be for such amazing services. Trust me, Dr. Nir is a one of a kind vet that your animal would be lucky to have!

Their love and passion for animals is truly genuine
We have a shepherd and a poodle who have been under the care of Dr. Nir and his vet tech Maryanne since they both were puppies. From the minute you walk in the door you feel a sense of warmth and caring. Their love and passion for animals is truly genuine. They are both highly knowledgeable in their respective field but are willing to take the extra time and make the effort to help the pet's owner feel comfortable and leave with an understanding of an illness or problem your pet might have. They make you and your pet feel at home; try obtaining that feeling at other medical establishments! Overall, Dr. Nir and Maryanne are two professionals I not only entrust with my babies; but I would highly recommend them for yours too.

Compassion and understanding
Dr. Nir and Mariane are the best. They saw us through our elder dog's illness with compassion and understanding. They encouraged us to call at any time with questions and concern. Our dog loved going into the vet -- a first for him. Now we have a new puppy. She loves going in just as much. They even encourage us to come in just to say hi. They are truly unique -- you know that care for your animal just as much as you do.

Nir truly is the best
Before meeting Dr. Nir, I brought my dogs to several other clinics. I can confidently say that Dr. Nir truly is the best. He and Maryanne work so well together. You can tell they care for your pets and your own well being too. I've been taking my dogs to Dr. Nir for 3 years, but I have friends who have taken their pets to him for over a decade! When my dog, Charlie got sick last year, Dr. Nir gave us all of the facts we needed to know. The atmosphere he and Maryanne create is very comforting. It's great to know there is a caring vet out there!

Special people
Dr. Nir and Marianne are very special people to me personally. Dr. Nir is probably the most wonderful and compassionate Doctor that I know. They listen to your concerns, they never rush through your appointment, their always very accomodating and helpful. Dr. Nir is a special man and I adore him as does my dog Bonehead. He feels comfortable with him completely and I know if I need something fast, Dr. Nir is there to do whatever he can do to help my dog. This truly is the best VET for your animal you could ever want to find!!!! They always have good candy in the office to :) Eileen

They work very well together to bring out an A-rated and classy place- all you animal owners- you can put your loved ones in their hands- they will take care of you and your pet!!!!!

The best
I truly don't think you can get any better than Dr. Nir and Maryann, his vet tech. Their knowledge, compassion, promptness and genuine love for animals is apparent in each and every contact whether it be an office visit or phone call.

Intelligent, caring, and compassionate
If you're looking for an intelligent, caring, and compassionate doctor, the Vet-Net is the place to go. Not only knowledgeable about standard pets, Dr. Nir has a great handle on other exotic wildlife. I am very impressed with his concern not only for our animal friends, but for their owners, as well. The best I've encountered over the years. Also, Marianne his trusted receptionist/vet tech/ and all around person who can help you with anything is very helpful with your animal related questions. She can provide you with a lot of animal related behavior advice, especially with dogs. Between the two, they make the Vet-Net a great place to bring your pets.

I've secured services from numerous Chicago-area veterinarians in various general and specialty practices over the past 25 years. Dr. Nir stands out as an exceptionally resourceful practitioner in general small-animal and exotic-animal medicine. His clinical experience and ongoing interest in research works to the advantage of patients with diseases or injuries that may not normally be encountered in day-to-day veterinary practice. For example, after some research, Dr. Nir proposed a successful course of therapy for our six-year-old, one-inch-long African dwarf frog who had begun to show signs of edema symptomatic of a metabolic disorder. The solution included daily administration of a diuretic drug usually prescribed in human medicine. Dr. Nir has cared for our fish, reptile and amphibian pets over the past several years. I've found him to be readily accessible, with very convenient hours. He responds quickly to telephone calls and emails regarding the ongoing status of his patients. Most of all, he's resourceful and pragmatic in his approach, which makes for efficient therapy. I highly recommend him.

Personal service
Dr Nir and Marianne have kept our 2 dogs, 2 African Greys and 2 cockatiels healthy and happy. They always make time to provide the best care possible, and we have come to view this practice as an extended member of our family. It is rare to find such personal service. We can rely on being provided with all the resources we need to keep our pets as healthy as possible, and are touched by the compassion shown when a pet is sick. I would not hesitate to recommend this practice to anyone who cares about their pets and needs tools to provide them with the best life possible.

Dr. Nir is the nicest, most compassionate vet we've ever known. His assistant Marianne is amazing. We have one dog and two cats. Dr. Nir saved my cats life! I can't say enough about how wonderful Dr. Nir and Marianne are. THE ABSOLUTE BEST!!!!

Happy to visit the vet
I would be happy to recommend the services of Dr. Nir to anyone needing any basic veterinary care for their pets, as well as more vital help in advanced situations. His knowledge and concern for the animal as an individual has made my little canine friend Rasta and I return again and again, for regular check-ups in addition to unexpected problems that arose, and one can feel comfortable with his demeanor. Although the doctor has done surgery and intensive dental work on my aging pet, she has never once returned to his office without being happy to see him, her tail wagging a mile a minute, and as we know, a dog is a good judge of character! Both the patient and owner are treated with respect, and Dr. Nir is also considerate with my situation. If ever a visit to a doctor could be deemed a pleasure, that is the case here, and I am thankful for it. Sincerely, Dave Marcinkus

Expert and compassionate cargiving
In November of 2007, we were looking for a new vet. Our beautiful little Gatsby had a large ulcerated tumor on his front left paw. Through my husband`s goddaughter, we met Dr. Nir. Dr. Nir took our little Gatsby on as a new patient immediately. We did not know if our little guy was going to lose his leg until Dr. Nir performed the surgery. Knowing we were terrified, Dr. Nir gave us the same great care and comfort as he gave to our dog. Through his expertise he was able to save Gatsby`s leg and bring him back to his normal wonderful self. We are so grateful to Dr. Nir for being the most caring, loving and compassionate vet-- not only to his animals but also to their families. We highly recommend Dr. Nir for anyone who loves their pets and wants the best in pet care and services. We are so very grateful to him and so thankful that we found him when we did.

My Chico
I was looking for a new veterinarian in April of 2006. I asked my neighbor whom she used for their dog. She said that their family were really pleased to have Dr. Nir and that he was the kind of vet who really cared about their animal. I made an appointment for my long haired chihuahua named Chico. My main concern was that he had lost approximately ninety percent of his beautiful hair. Dr Nir checked him out by giving him a blood test and by taking a skin sample. After the blood test results came back he said that Chico had a thyroid problem and prescribed several pills that I was to administer twice per day. At first nothing happened. He continued to be hairless. Then I noticed some fur returning. Today thanks to Dr. Nir and his very able assistant Maryanne Chico has got his coat back just in time for the cold weather. I would recommend his services without reservation. He really cares about animals.

Dr. Nir & Maryanne & Jessica
To Dr. Nir, Mayranne & Jessica, You guys are the best. Your kind, compassionate and caring, very caring. I appreciate every thing you have done for me and my kids, Lady, Leo and Ginger. I love you guys with all my heart. And I have never had a problem recommending you guys. Even when people say they have a vet or they live to far, I tell them that Dr. Nir is worth the drive. I wish you all the best.

We love Dr. Nir
What an artistic appreciation of animals! We love Dr. Nir and Lucille feels much better about the health of her canary, Pixie Dust, and of course, our Golden Retriever, Archie (Archibald Cox).

My cats and Dr Nir
Dr. Nir opened his practice near in our neighbor-hood in the past year. We had been taking our animals to another vet in Naperville with a reasonable degree of satisfaction, but thought we would try the new facility nearby. It was one of the best moves that we have made. Dr Nir and his assistant Maryanne were very empathetic. One of our cats needed to be in the animal hospital for a while and Dr Nir (though he might not want me to say this as other clients may request similar treatment) took my cat to his home where his daughter gave my cat TLC. Is there a better testimonial to his treatment of a pet? Dr Nir and Maryanne provided not only excellent medical treatment, but they also were spiritial in nature. When you walk into their office, you will notice immediately that you are in a special place for both you and your pet.

Nir and Dear
I am very glad (and so are my cats) to have Dr. Nir taking care of them. He is certainly very knowledgeable, but even more important, he has compassion. I know I can trust him to give my kids the very best care and concern. He always has time to see me,especially when I call in a panic. I feel they get the very best. Am more than grateful to have Dr. Nir as my vet; it is just one less thing to worry about.

Wonderful communicator
Dear Dr. Nir. I just wanted to thank you. I have always admired vets because they are asked to make diagnoses and perform treatments on patients who cannot talk and explain what is wrong or what is hurting. Your experience, and just the kind of doctor you are, seems to give you a special sense that is extremely rare these days. Some vets seem to talk down to clients when they ask questions about their animals. You seem to welcome questions, and you explain things so thoroughly. Please, do not ever change. It is a quality that makes your practice like no other.

Best Experience Ever
I was not very happy with the veterinarian I had been bringing my dog Cindi to for several years. A friend recommended I try Dr. Nir at his Animal Clinic in Naperville. It is the best thing I ever did for both me and Cindi. Dr. Nir is absolutely wonderful. And his offices are beautiful. I happened to bring my daughter along for our first visit and I could not believe what a learning experience it turned to be for her. Dr. Nir is obviously a very caring man who loves animals and people who own them. I can hardly wait to recommend him to someone who is looking for a veterinarian.

The best
I am a nurse so I know how busy a doctors office can be. I am amazed every time I bring my Snookie, a mixed breed dog, to see Dr. Nir. His assistant Maryanne greets us like old friends. She hugs Snookie and makes our visit so enjoyable. She makes us feel like friends, not just clients. My experiences with Dr. Nir have enhanced the joys of pet ownership so much. I am so glad I found his Naperville clinic location. It is a beautiful office with large rooms and places for children to play with stuffed animals and read books. It is like we are visiting Dr. Nirin his home. Thank you for everything.

All our pets
We not only have a dog and a cat that Dr. Nir cares for. We also have two guinea pigs and a rabbit. Dr. Nir we have discovered is a veterinarian who specializes in every living thing. All creatures great and small. In fact his practice reminds me of the TV show that was based on country veterinarian James Herriott. He always has a warm smile and always makes us feel good even when we are concerned about a pet problem. He is not only an animal person. He is a people person. His hands on personal attention is most appreciated in this day of impersonal service. I did not think there was a veterinarian like him still around. I never hesitate for one second recommending him to a pet owner.

Thank You Dr. Nir
Dear Dr. Nir. I am so glad you have opened up a clinic location in Naperville. I used to bring my cat Miss Tiger Lilly to your Cicero office but it was a bit of a drive. Naperville is much closer and I am so happy. But I never minded driving out of my way to bring her to see you. I am so fortunate to have a veterinarian like you. A person who is gentle and caring and one who takes the time to explain procedures and treatment. You always answer all of my questions and concerns. I trust my cat to your care and I trust you as a friend. If everybody knew how great a veterinarian you really are you would have to have many more locations.

My friend Dr. Nir
My name is Jonathan. I am 12. My dad has been bringing our dog Heidi to Dr. Nir ever since she was a puppy. Heidi loves Dr. Nir. She starts wagging her tail when she knows we are bringing her to see him. I think that is really neat because I sure do not like it when my mom brings me to the doctor. Maryanne, who works with Dr. Nir, is the nicest lady I know. She loves Heidi and Heidi loves her. When I grow up I want to be a veterinarian just like Dr. Nir.

Our Family Doctor
Dr. Nir has been taking care of our pets for over 10 years now. We have developed a relationship with him similar to our family doctor. He is a trusted and caring veterinarian who has what we like to call a family practice for our dear pets.If you are seeking a caregiver for whatever pet you may own and wish to avoid the impersonal and uncaring nature of the new mega-clinics, I recommend him highly.
